History

Plater Chemicals was founded in 1980 by Bruce Hendon. By developing relationships with chemical manufacturers across Europe, China, India, South America, Russia & the Far East allowed the company to expand and import industrial chemicals directly to customers in the UK and Ireland via warehouses at Ellesmere Port, Glossop, Ipswich and Goole.

Lancashire Chemicals joined the group in 2009 which added toll spray drying, liquid and powder blending for customers across Europe as well as the manufacture of de-icers, acetates, formates, propionates, lactates and chrome chemicals. Its eight-acre site is located in Glossop, north Derbyshire. Lancashire Chemicals was established in Glossop (by Dr.W. Hene and Dr. R. Hecksher) in 1937 for the production of a range speciality Chromium Chemicals. The business remained in the ownership of the Hene family for 70 years.
