Bruce Hendon

Bruce, founder and Managing Director of the Plater Group, is an entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry. Over the last ten years Bruce has steered Plater through a period of unprecedented growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, resulting in more than 10% average year-on-year growth in turnover and an increase from 15 employees on one site in 2008 to more than 60 staff across three UK sites. In addition to striving for commercial and professional excellence Bruce is an avid cyclist, enjoys sailing, skiing and is always on the lookout for the next adrenaline-fuelled pursuit.

Sally Moran

Sally joined the Plater Group in 2016 and is Corporate Development Director. She focuses on financial analysis, strategic planning and project management. Previously, she worked for Citigroup and Credit Suisse Investment Banking in New York and London as a Vice President, specialising in advising US and European financial institutions on mergers & acquisitions and capital issuance. Previously, she designed assessment data and progress tracking systems for primary and preparatory schools. She is a co-opted governor at the local high school.

Tracey Redding

Tracey is the Customer Services Manager for Distribution and is based in the Alrewas office. She started as an administrator in 2003 and moved into sales before being promoted to her current position. She really enjoys her time at work and the team spirit created by her work colleagues. Tracey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. When she’s not enjoying the company of her 3 grandchildren, who keep her very busy, she loves gardening, cooking and walking her dog, Maisie, a cockerpoo.

Mina Thompson

Mina is the Purchasing Manager for Plater Group and based in Alrewas. She has a wealth of knowledge surrounding all aspects of the business having worked for the group since 2004 and is our go to person if we have any questions about the chemical industry. Away from work, Mina enjoys relaxing with her family and is also kept busy tending to her horses from early morning and after work, enabling her to compete at weekends.

Kate Greenway

Kate has over 20 years’ experience in the travel sector and 10 years as Retail Branch Manager before joining the Plater Group sales team in Glossop. She provides expertise in customer service, communication and time management. Kate thrives on providing the flexibility to source and fulfil customer requirements, removing their headaches and ultimately building a rapport leading to a long-lasting relationship with her customers. Sam Cammish

Sam is the Customer Service Administrator based in Alrewas. During a varied career path Sam has gained a lot of customer service experience. After leaving education she became part of cabin crew for a major airline, leaving after 8 years to join the family business dealing with private investigations. Here Sam was responsible for the supervision of Drug & Alcohol testing teams in the UK and Spain and providing NVQ training in Spectator Safety to football clubs in the UK. Sam likes dealing with new projects and problems solving in all aspects of business and relishes a challenge. Outside of work Sam enjoys travel, keeping fit and family time, especially time spent with her daughter Tabitha.

Kelly Millington

Kelly, our Customer Service Administrator, based in Alrewas, has over 20 years’ experience in customer service and dealing with the smooth running of company transport departments. Her expertise is problem solving and exploring ways of working more efficiently. Kelly has two grown up children, both studying at university and in her spare time she loves walking. Along with her husband, she takes part in the Macmillan Mighty Hikes, raising as much money as possible for this very worthy cause. Her favourite holiday destination is Ibiza, watching the sunset whilst having a drink in Cafe del Mar. She has a Plummer Terrier named Max who is the most loving, but craziest dog you're ever likely to meet.

Alice Whitehead

Alice has worked in a few different fields which has enabled her to gain a lot of customer service experience. After leaving college she worked as a booking coordinator for a travel company, responsible for booking rooms for large film productions and TV shows. Karen Potter

Richard Sykes

Richard is the Technical Director of Plater Group. He is a chartered chemist and has over 35 experience in the manufacturing sector of the chemical industry, developing a wide experience of manufacturing, product and system development and process optimisation. He thrives on working closely with customers to find solutions to their operation and product manufacturing issues. Richard has played hockey since the age of 15 and now umpires which takes him all over the north of England and he is chairman of the umpire selectors for Yorkshire.

John, Plater’s Technical and QA Manager has over 30 years manufacturing experience across the Food and Nutraceutical and Cosmetics industry. The Ministry of Agriculture sponsored John through university where he gained Bsc(Hons) Food Safety and Quality Management / Msc Chemistry and PhD in Molecular Biology, contributing to his expertise in Product Design and Quality Management Systems. Martin Crutchley

Martin has over 20 years’ experience as a site engineering manager. He originally undertook a 4 year EITB mechanical apprenticeship as maintenance apprentice Technician. His qualifications include ONC and a HNC in mechanical engineering and ONC in electrical engineering. Martin has a good knowledge of maintenance within the chemical and food industry following his time as operational support engineer at Nestle. Chris Wilson

Chris began working in the Pharmaceutical Division of Plater Group and due to his extensive knowledge, experience and qualifications was quickly promoted to Health and Safety Coordinator for the Group. Wayne Conner

Wayne started work as an operative at the Glossop site in 1996 and has gained an NVQ Diploma in Manufacturing Practices. Utilising his vast knowledge of the chemical industry he has the ability to operate both machinery and equipment on site. He has a great understanding of leadership skills having worked his way to the position of team leader and more recently Shift Manager. Wayne enjoys learning new skills and meeting customers when running trials for potential new business. He gains a lot of satisfaction as a manager, sharing his knowledge to ultimately strengthen his team. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with family, especially his granddaughter. He also enjoys doing DIY around the house.

Tony Price

Tony has worked at Plater Group since 2002 and has worked his way up from shift worker to shift manager. Nicola Clarke

Nicola has over 4 years of experience in laboratory testing having worked in different capacities. She has always loved theoretical, analytical and practical chemistry. Her strengths are new product development and being people oriented enjoys training new staff. She gets a lot of satisfaction working on scientific experiments and new chemical formulations for new products developed from initial trials. Nicola enjoys the camaraderie at Plater Group, in the lab and throughout the rest of the Glossop site. Nathan Price

Nathan has a varied work experience from chef to retail positions, but has always had a passion for science especially testing and experiments and keen to learn new skills. His ability to work with chemical titrations and analysis together with his accuracy when working on new chemical formulations in the Plater lab is proving a winning formula. Nathan’s interests outside of work include cooking, baking, growing fruit and veg and spending time with family and friends. Jade Miller

Jade is the Accountant at Plater Group, Glossop. She has accountancy experience within the manufacturing industry since 2015 and has achieved AAT level 3 Advanced Diploma in accountancy. She really enjoys working as part of a team and particularly relishes solving the problems that an account’s role can encounter. Jade has a diverse range of pets, from the cat and 2 dogs, Boxer (Lennox) and German Shepherd (Cesar) to a bearded dragon!
