Chemical Spray Cooling

Convert waxy or low-melting materials into free-flowing, uniform granules using our controlled spray-cooling process.

What is spray cooling?

Spray cooling heats a meltable material, atomises it into droplets and rapidly cools those droplets to form stable granules. The result is a uniform particle size, excellent flow and easy dosing — ideal where handling and consistency matter.

Key benefits

  • Instant solidification from the molten phase — no mass loss or solvent evaporation.
  • Improved flow, packing and dosing from spherical, consistent granules.
  • Adjustable particle size to meet specification.
  • Eliminates the need for grinding or extra downstream milling.
  • Option to microencapsulate actives for stability or controlled release.

Why Plater Group?

We offer end-to-end spray cooling: raw material sourcing, formulation support, pilot-scale testing and commercial manufacture. Our facilities are ISO-aligned and built for flexibility — from R&D batches to full production runs.

  • Flexible scales: pilot to commercial
  • Technical support from experienced chemists
  • Integration with spray drying, blending and contract packaging
  • Traceability and quality systems for regulated sectors

Typical applications

Common uses include waxy or molten chemicals that must be supplied as powders, microencapsulated actives for agrochemicals and nutrition, and free-flowing powders for detergents, catalysts and speciality chemicals.
